Reimbursement
How reimbursement works
Therapy is usually reimbursed under your basic Dutch health insurance, provided you have a referral from your GP. You can also choose to pay privately, in which case no referral is required.
I work without contracts with health insurers (ongecontracteerd). This is a deliberate choice.It means the amount reimbursed depends on your specific policy and insurer. Since 2025, full restitution policies are no longer available, so a portion of the costs will typically need to be covered out of pocket. Reimbursement usually ranges between 65% and 85%.
I’d recommend checking with your insurer before we begin so you know what to expect. For more information about non-contracted care, you can visit the LVVP website or contact your insurer directly.
During the initial screening, we’ll go over the expected costs and how billing works. An intake session is only scheduled once this is clear for both of us.
Insurance Coverage
I am a non-contracted provider, but am a BIG registered therapist. This means most Dutch insurance providers offer significant coverage for the therapy I provide.

Please note that from January 2025, reimbursement rates may adjust based on new national healthcare regulations. I recommend checking with your specific provider for the mostup-to-date 'Restitutiepolis' details.
General Policies
You’ll receive an invoice at the end of each month. You submit it to your insurer yourself, and the reimbursement depends on your policy.
Payment
Please cancel at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or missed appointments are charged a no-show fee of €50.
Cancelling an appointment
If you have concerns about your treatment, I’d always prefer to hear about it directly so we can try to resolve it together. If that doesn’t lead to a solution, you can use the LVVP complaints procedure.
